GUYANA: Gajraj goes, reluctantly

President Bharrat Jagdeo's ruling People's Progressive Party is struggling to regroup after its discredited home affairs minister, Ronald Gajraj, reluctantly tendered his resignation at the end of April. Gajraj, suspended from office while being investigated by a dubious inquiry into allegations he maintained links to an extra-judicial death squad, resigned just 26 days after he was reinstated at the behest of his cabinet colleagues.
